How can I write that paper?

For some Apollos X folks, it may have been a while since you
wrote your last paper. No worries, it's not hard to get one together, Apollos-style.

Let's use a short passage of Scripture to demonstrate an easy way to get our research done:

Psalm 23:1–2 (ESV)
1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2 He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters.

Step 1: read the passage a few times to get familiar with it.

Step 2: underline or highlight key words. To identify key words, ask yourself this questions, "If I knew more about this word, would it help me understand this passage better? In our 2 verses, this might look something like this;

Psalm 23:1–2 (ESV)
1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2 He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters.

Step 3: using your hard cover resources or your online resources, do word studies on the key words;

shepherd - see the BibleHub Encyclopedia or look up "shepherd" in your Nave's Topical Bible and Smith's Bible Dictionary.

want - see Blue Letter Bible or look up "want" in your Vine's or Strong's

lie down - see Crosswalk or look up "lie down" in your Strong's.

Do similar searches for the remaining words.

To find these pages on the websites, you'll have to look up the passage, then use any study tools the site makes available to do your word study. They will usually be called a "lexicon" or go by Strong's number. All the websites work differently so it may take you a few minutes to find out the best way to get the info you want from the website you want to use.

Step 4 : - once you have completed your word studies, plug those meanings into your passage and begin making notes about what the passage says.

The same 4 steps work for doing your papers based on the articles of the SoF; Identify your key words, use your
resources to study them (using additional resources like "Charts" and "Grudems" will be more helpful here), then begin writing. The SoF with Scripture References can be helpful with the articles as well.

Hopefully, this will help give you some direction and focus. Let us know if we can offer any additional assistance!
